This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs the use of SiteForge’s services, including but not limited to web hosting, website design, domain registration, ForgeCare maintenance, and related products (“Services”). By using our Services, you agree to comply with this AUP, our Terms and Conditions, and all applicable South African laws and regulations.

1. General Responsibilities

  1.1 You are responsible for all content, data, and activities conducted through your SiteForge account.

  1.2 You agree to use our Services lawfully, responsibly, and in a manner that does not compromise the security, integrity, or performance of our systems, networks, or other customers.

  1.3 You may not use the Services to engage in any activity that violates applicable laws, including the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA), POPIA, the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), and relevant intellectual property laws.

2. Prohibited Uses

You may not use SiteForge Services for:

Illegal Activities: Hosting, distributing, or promoting unlawful material, including content that incites violence, promotes hate speech, or breaches South African criminal law.

Infringement of Intellectual Property: Uploading, distributing, or using content without proper authorization (e.g., pirated software, copyrighted works, or trademarks).

Malicious Activities: Transmitting viruses, malware, phishing content, or any code designed to disrupt or harm systems.

Spamming: Sending unsolicited bulk emails, SMS, or messages in violation of South African anti-spam laws and ECTA provisions. Security Violations: Attempting unauthorized access, penetration testing without consent, or disrupting other customers’ use of the Services.

Resource Abuse: Excessive use of bandwidth, storage, or server resources in a manner that interferes with SiteForge’s ability to provide fair service to all clients. Misrepresentation: Impersonating SiteForge, its staff, or misusing its services for fraudulent activities.

3. Domain and Email Usage

  3.1 Domains registered through SiteForge must comply with the ZA Central Registry (ZACR) policies and applicable international registry rules.

  3.2 Email services may not be used for mass marketing campaigns, spamming, or phishing.

4. ForgeCare Maintenance Plans

  4.1 Clients may not request or implement changes through ForgeCare that would violate this AUP.

  4.2 We reserve the right to reject service requests that compromise security, legality, or system stability.

5. Monitoring and Enforcement

  5.1 SiteForge reserves the right to monitor accounts and services to ensure compliance with this AUP.

  5.2 Violation of this policy may result in:

    • Suspension or termination of Services, with or without notice.

    • Removal of content deemed unlawful or harmful.

    • Referral to law enforcement authorities where applicable.

6. Reporting Violations

If you believe this AUP has been violated, please report it immediately to support@siteforge.co.za with supporting evidence.

7. Liability and Indemnity

  7.1 SiteForge is not responsible for content hosted, transmitted, or distributed by its customers.

  7.2 Customers agree to indemnify and hold SiteForge harmless against any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from misuse of Services or breach of this AUP.

8. Changes to this Policy

SiteForge may update this AUP at any time to reflect legal or operational changes. Continued use of our Services constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
